What fall festival is your fave and why?

Is it Heritage Days? West Side Nut Club Fall Festival? Mitchell Persimmon Festival? Petersburg Catfish Festival? Another?

West Side Nut Club Fall Festival is sooo crowded and parking is too hard to find. Give me good ole Heritage days!

West Side Nut Club Fall Festival. So much good food to choose from. Lots of people watching. And...most importantly....all the proceeds are going to charities! Parking is a pain, but it's worth it. The walk is good for me after all that food anyway.

Google just informed me that the Catfish festival was the last weekend of August. DARN!!! I too enjoy large quantities of high quality catfish.

There is always next year (this has to be one of the worst euphemisms)

Putting in my order now "fiddlers" Spoonbill(no bones):)caught one once in Patoka river!! also won a trophy in baseball that summer:confused:

Give me good ole Heritage days!Any news on what's happening this year at Heritage Days? Are they closing Main Street again? That really gave ppl elbow room last year.

Hertiage days with Nick Michas and the Hertiage Feud is always fun. When I was a kid I thought the school fall fest held at the Francisco lions club was a greta time. Now days it is held in the school gym and just aint what it use to be.

But the best of the best is always Haub Fest a close second would be Jasper's Strassenfest nothingbetter than a cold beer and bag of brats and some good polka music.

We did have great fall festivals when we had a high school, didn't we, Vance? Each class had a couple of booths and the place was always crowded!

Hey, my barbershop quartet won the talent contest at Jasper's one year. Think we won $40. Didn't drink any beer though! LOL We did better when we sang for the Philharmonic, got $400 for 3 songs and a tag. Those were the days!

I only attended K at the old school but the fall fest at the lions club/school was also a lot of fun. Like you said each class had a few booths and a large stage was set up outside for the talent shows. You could toss a football, shoot a basketball, throw a baseball or even smash an old car with a big dang hammer. The place was always crowded.
