 Does anyone remember what year or "how" the formerly outside, concrete school mascot was "neutered"? I think it was in the later 70's, but would love to hear if anyone has more specific knowledge about it. Also, what was Mr Ramsey and Mr Krietemeyer's first names? Thanks, Tony.

The names were Larry Ramsey and Bill Krietemeyer. I'm not sure what you mean by 'neutered'?

Sorry, the Tiger's family jewels were removed at some point in time. Not sure exactly when, but can imagine a chisel may have been involved. Thanks for the names.

Way before my time, but I always heard that one graduating class donated the tiger. Which class was it?

It was probably 70-71; it seems the tiger has been there about as long as the building. I'd have to get down some old yearbooks to check when he appeared.

The class of 1976 donated the tiger.

I remember a tiger before then. Was it replaced perhaps?

I was in the class of '76. I helped with the project. The late Jack Fleming, a student, was the head of the project. Money was collected at basketball games and at pep rally's. As far as one being there before, there wasn't that I'm aware of.

1973 Retrospect, p. 32
caption reads: Jim Key and Becky Sisk, representatives of the Class of 1972, present the "Mighty PCHS Tiger" to Donna Eiland, Student Council President.

My wife apologizes and is trying to recall what the story is. She thought Jack had something to do with the tiger project and that she did some stuff also. Jeez, it's been 30 years. It sucks getting old. Thanks for going to the trouble, though. You're a real hero, now.;)

I'm betting it was a project to repaint the poor thing; it did get abused through the years. I just knew I remembered waiting for my ride out in front of the school, sadly, prior to 1976!

Just put your pointer on the picture and "right click." Choose "save image" or "save picture as" and choose a folder and you've got it.
