Decker's U-Pick just north of Patoka has WONDERFUL bluebderries this year!
I drove all the way from Indy for my annual U-Pick extravaganza with my family. Open Monday,Wednesday and Saturday mornings. Take your own containers. The berries are easy to pick (no stickers) and the bushes were loaded. There aren't any bugs, etc. and it's just FUN.

Suki, I think blueberries is all they have right now. (I don't know of any place, ANYWHERE that has U-Pick blackberries.) Decker's have a U-Pick strawberry patch near Hazleton, at the junction of U.S.41 and Hwy. 56. Their strawberries are available earlier in the year, like maybe May. Strawberry season is over for this year in Indiana.
The Decker blueberries are usually available in the latter part of June, into July. Check with them about the details. Their phone number is (812) 784-2469. I don't have all of the answers: I'm just a customer and a big fan of their blueberries.
The blackberries get ripe in Gibson County about the same time as the blueberries. Your best bet to pick some fresh ones yourself is to find a friend who lives in the country and ask if they have blackberries that you could pick. Wild blackberries grow in old fence rows, etc. So far it seems like a good year for them. If you pick your own, my advice is to use plenty of bug spray for the chiggers, and wear long sleeves and long pants to protect your skin from the briars.
For any kind of berries that you pick yourself, don't wash them until you are ready to use them. They will keep better if you just refrigerate them as is.
Also, You might check the internet for a list of U-Pick places and farmers' markets in Indiana. I did that last week when looking for Decker's phone number.
If you are new to Gibson County, you are in for a real treat as the summer veggies hit their peak. As far as I'm concerned, there isn't a better place on the face of the earth to get fresh corn, tomatoes, and melons. Check out a farmer's market; like the one on the square on Saturday mornings. Arn says he will be selling blackberries.
