IMPORTANT: Only ISP or paid email addresses will be allowed to participate on this forum. Therefore, more than one account may exist per email account. Exceptions may be made if you provide a name and phone number, but membership approval will likely take longer due to the verification needed. This rule is necessary to prevent "drive-by" and abusive posters, spammers, and porn-peddlers.

Although the administrators and moderators of GibsonCountyNow.com will attempt to keep all objectionable messages off this forum, it is impossible for us to review all messages. All messages express the views of the author, and neither the owners of GCN, GCN Sponsors nor Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. (developers of vBulletin) will be held responsible for the content of any message.

By agreeing to these rules, you warrant that you will not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-oriented, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violative of any laws.

The administrators/moderators of GCN reserve the right to remove, edit, move or close any thread for any reason. Members that blatantly break rules may be removed from the forum at the discretion of the forum administrator and supermoderators. The owners of GCN also reserve the right to use materials posted in this forum in promotional and commercial materials.

Miscellaneous Rules

1. Administrator/Moderator decisions/actions are final and will not be discussed publicly on the forum. There will be no discussion of moderation and no complaining about treatment of others by the admins/moderators. Third parties cannot always know what has transpired to cause a disciplinary action. If you have an issue, handle it with a PM.

2. Moderators cannot read all posts – if you see an offensive/illegal post, do not assume it is OK with moderators and certainly do not assume moderators condone the post. Report it and be rewarded (sometimes) with reputation points if the report results in moderating action.

3. Cyber-Stalking will NOT be tolerated. All evidence of such action will be turned over to legal authorities and GCN will cooperate legally with members that have been harmed.

If you are approached by another member that is claiming to have been “wronged” in some way by another member, DO NOT participate in revenge-seeking with that individual. Report the incident to the admins/moderators.

4. Flaming is NOT allowed and will result in warnings/infractions up to and including banishment from GCN. Flaming includes any comment intended to irritate, intimidate, or belittle another poster.

5. Feuds between members will not be tolerated in threads. If you have a problem with another member, handle it offline or by contacting an administrator/moderator.

6. Character attacks are NOT allowed and will result in warnings/infractions up to and including banishment from GCN.

7. Guessing of, or releasing, the real names of GCN members is ABSOLUTELY forbidden and will result in warnings/infractions up to and including banishment from GCN.

8. Criticism of local businesses is monitored. Administrators will remove posts/threads that are excessively critical of local business.

9. Negative behavior outside of the forum – if proven reasonably to be a result of GCN posting activity or interaction – will result in warnings/infractions up to and including banishment from GCN.

10. Advertising of any sort is not allowed without first receiving permission from the administrator. Advertising and Sponsorship rates are available.

11. Criticism of advertisers is NOT allowed. If you have an issue with an advertiser, PM or email the administrator for review.
